Sensationalism and scandal are key issues in the text, with the press coverage of politicians caught up in gay scandals, as well as gay politicians, explored. … The representation of gay politicians in the UK press has so far been underrepresented in media and political studies. Donna Smith has extensive experience in social scientific and political research. She is an Associate Lecturer in Politics and Social Sciences for the Open University, where she also works in faculty management. Made me cringe but laugh at the same time...

Being the mom of a 36 year-old son myself, I was naturally drawn to the story of these three women wanting to get to know their sons better. I'm glad mine is happily married though, so I wouldn't have to make the bold move they did here. At times I wanted to yell "NOOOO!" at their antics, but I have to say that overall it was well-written, amusing, touching and not-so-Hollywood-perfect like I was dreading by the conclusion. Carol and Matt, Helen and Paul, and Gillian and Daniel will stay with you after you'be finished the book. Great, quick read.

I stumbled upon this book at just the right time in my life. I'm 51 with a 21 year old son who does not live with me. So I relate well to the mothers' points of view. The author described aging as if he were a woman himself! Very insightful. I LOVED this book. It made me laugh and cry. Highly recommend it.

About the Author
Robert L. Hilliard has been Dean of Graduate Studies and Dean of Continuing Education and taught, in addition to media writing, courses such as Media Programming, The Media and the Holocaust, Hate.com, Communication Law, and Pictures of Protest. He has served as Chief of the Public Broadcasting Branch of the Federal Communications Commission and Chair of the Federal Interagency Media Committee for the White House. A frequent lecturer on media and education on all continents, Dr. Hilliard is the author or co-author of more than thirty books, including several leading media texts. Among his recent books are HOLLYWOOD SPEAKS OUT: PICTURES THAT DARED TO PROTEST REAL WORLD ISSUES and, with co-author Michael Keith, THE BROADCAST CENTURY AND BEYOND: A HISTORY OF AMERICAN RADIO AND TELEVISION, DIRTY DISCOURSE: SEX AND INDECENCY IN BROADCASTING, and THE QUIETED VOICE: THE RISE AND DEMISE OF LOCALISM IN AMERICAN BROADCASTING. He is also a published novelist and produced playwright.

Bought this for a major renovation project where I had to move or replace most of the plumbing. This was a good reference with easy to understand instructions for things like supply, drain and waste line positions for sinks, laundry, etc. Good book.

Trying to go from zero to hero with no prior plumbing experience as we undertake a whole home remodel, I've been reading various plumbing books recently. I also read the Black and Decker, Plumbing Complete, one other one from the library, and this one. This is probably my favorite out of the lot but I don't think I've found the perfect plumbing guide yet.

Their might be other books out their Better/Cheaper, but I haven't found them yet and so I am just sharing that I am VERY satisfied with this book and a must for the first time home owner or first time a person wants to tackle these projects

Wow this program is big, alot of potential!!! I have heard about Udemy from a few YouTubers and did not know what the name meant so I decided to find out more about this subject. Udemy seems to be a great platform for people to share their knowledge with other people and the best part both parties don't have to leave their homes. The instructors records their training sessions and their students can watch these recordings in the privacy of their own home via the internet, at a small price. Amazing for both the instructors and trainee.

All the information I need about Udemy is in this book which allows me the opportunity to evaluate if this is something I would like to get into to take my business to the next level.

Update of an inadequate text

I have not read this edition of Dr. Kent's book, but as a former student of Dr. Kent's, I was forced to buy his text when I took his comparative anatomy course. At the time, I found it a difficult read of marginal usefulness. When he left Louisiana State, a different, far better text was introduced. If this is merely an update of that volume, I echo others who recommend other sources.

Though this book is a decent introductory guide to comparative vertebrate anatomy, there is a significant lack of detail in certain sections. The text is very condensed, and difficult to read at certain parts. I recommend using a similar book by Walker.
