Great series for my second grader!

This is a great series for early readers that want to move to a bit more challenging chapter books. My second grader loves that each book is about a different adventure and that she learns facts at the same time.

Loads of education wrapped up in a fun kids' adventure book. Excellent Series!!!

We are really enjoying this book. It's full of fun adventures with more educational material than any penguin textbook I've read. This is a new series for us, and we plan to buy many more. It's about the Ad�lie penguin and their lifestyle, and has loads of information about how they live, eat, raise their young, and spend their time. It teaches about their natural predators, and most interesting is how they don't fear humans because they've never encountered a dangerous predator on land and so have had no reason to fear land-dwelling creatures. When the kids turn into penguins, we get to learn about life from the view of a penguin, but in human concepts, which is something regular books don't explain very well. And it has great cliffhangers to keep the action going! Plus, the excerpts that explain scientific facts are short and interesting and not at all disruptive to the flow of the book. We've finally found a series that both my kids and we (their parents) enjoy reading together.

my son has loved all the magic school bus items; he requested the books and dvds for Christmas and has exhausted our local library's selection too
